The Arc of Natrona County!
Summer is winding down at The Arc of Natrona County! Here is a glimpse of some exciting events that happened in our neck of the woods!
Arc Summer Inclusion Camp:
The Arc of Natrona County’s annual Summer Inclusion Camp atop Casper Mountain was held July 26th-July 31st. Each year, participants with disABILITIES and without disABILITIES join together at the fully accessible Allen H. Steward Lyon’s Camp for the Blind to enjoy crafts, games, music, learning stations, horseback riding, a petting zoo, carnival and many wonderful presentations from community agencies. On Friday, July 30th, the campers put on a presentation for parents and friends, showcasing the sign language that they have learned throughout the week. This unique six day experience ended with an overnight night stay (for campers 12 and older), a dance and BBQ, and plenty of S’mores! Most importantly, the children with special needs experienced and built long-lasting relationships with the other children, counselors, volunteers, and staff!
My Favorite Arc Quote:
“When the world tells C.J. how different he is, The Arc is there to tell C.J. how he has made the world different…and better.”~Heather, parent
