Who We Are

2007 Campaign Cabinet | Board of Directors | Corporate Donors | Staff

The United Way of Natrona County is a local organization governed by business leaders who make important decisions to fulfill unmet community needs. As such, the United Way retains flexibility to accept and to respond to change in our community. Our annual campaign is a single fundraising effort for our partners, human service agencies. Funding for our partners is based on the ability to identify and solve problems. More than 89 cents of every dollar raised by the United Way goes to help people in our community.

Our United Way was started in Casper in 1955. The originators accepted the challenge to efficiently raise and allocate private dollars for human service needs. In 1955, $96,000 was raised in support of programs of eight agencies. In 2006, our United Way is providing support through 27 agencies. The goal last year was $1.1 million, headed up by Casper Police Chief, Tom Pagel. This year our Campaign Chairman is Susie McMurry who set a lofty goal of $1.25 million.

The United Way is recognized as a catalyst for community problem solving. We plan to play an even more profound role in the years to come. We recognize the unfinished business of fulfilling critical human development needs. We are accountable and we enjoy a high level of credibility for our deeds and accomplishments.
